When I play with eyeshadows - Silver, Gray and Black

Hello everyone! Weekend is fast approaching, who's up for a weekend sale? I am! I don't have anything in mind to but but I want to visit malls to see what I can get. There might be something I need that's on sale but again I'm not sure yet "laughs".

Ok...enough of the mall thing. I haven't used gray and black eyeshadows in my usual office/day make-up. I don't know, I just feel a bit uncomfortable wearing them especially if the color is very pigmented. I guess I was afraid to have a big panda eye!

Today, because I'm not going anywhere and I can remove my make-up anytime, I decided to be more creative with my make-up. I tried some silver and gray eyeshadows with a little bit of black. I thought I just want to see how it looks on me then erase it afterwards but I decided to make a full face.

I didn't have any inspiration for making this look but I was thinking of catwoman after I applied the eyeshadows and while lining my eyes. Here's the final look.

The eyeshadow look a little blue here, maybe that's because of ther lighting.

Just wanted to see how it looks with red lipstick.
I used pink lipstick to make the eye color stand-out

I hope to make a tutorial soon so watch out for that. For now, I'll just be posting some FOTD's. Thank you all for reading my blog I really do appreciate it.

See you in my next post. Muah!

Nichido Color Intense Eye Pencil

Hello everyone! Would you believe I haven't taken my lunch? No, I'm not on a diet but I felt like my stomach is still full although my brain is thinking about food. Oh well..I guess I would have to eat after this post.

I love eye pencil as much as eyeshadows. There were times that I don't feel like patting on shadows just because I was so lazy to do so. For those lazy days an eye pencil is on the rescue!

I was rummaging counters and counters of make-up at SM Department store for affordable eyeliner. The color should be vibrant and opaque without breaking the bank.

I saw these eyeliners lying beside eyebrow powder at Nichido counter. I have tried Nichido products before, I wasn't impressed so I'm not expecting too much from these eyepencil. I tried applying it on the back of my hand and I can’t believe how creamy they are unlike other eyeliners I have tried. I decided to buy two colors that I don't have yet.

Shading Sponge

From Left: Vivid Turqouise, Deep Plum

Smudged once

Water test

The color stays on the skin after 6-7 smudges

Likes:
Affordable at Php80 – Steal!
Vibrant colors without breaking the bank
Glides on smoothly without tugging
Creamy and Easy to apply
One swipe is enough to get the color I want
Does not irritate my eyes when used on waterline

Dislikes:
Smudges like crazy!
Shading sponge is useless
Would leave a panda eye if used as an eyeshadow

Although this eye pencil is not smudge proof, I think it's water proof. I put it under running water but the color stays in place with the same omp to it. I normally use it on my waterline if I want to look awake without eyeshadows. The shading sponge is useless, it just absorbs the color when used. I suggest using a proper shading brush if you want to use it as an eyeshadow base or your finger would be perfect.
It is a very pretty color. If you want a vibrant eyepencil at an affordable price then you should give Nichido Color Intense eyepencil a try. Php80 wouldn't hurt if you didn't like it.
These has remain in my make-up kit and I would definitely repurchase the other shades.

My first day as a full-time Wife

Happy Sunday guys! Have been busy around lately because of some stuffs I have to take care of before I leave the company that I worked with. Yes! I have rendered more than 30 days to take care of everything for a smooth transition. Now I am ready to take new responsibility...at home that is!

So yesterday was my sisters birthday, although I am not with her to celebrate I made a dish that I don't usually cook at home to make the day a little bit speacial. I wanted to make white spaghetti but I realized that I cooked a lot of rice so more carbs from spaghetti could be too much.

I got this recipe from Liz of Project Vanity so this is not my original. You can check the link to see how she make it step by step. I used 1 kilo of beef for this and adjusted the ingredients to suit my taste.

I wanted to show you some pictures of it while I’m cooking. I like this recipe, it is tasty and easy to prepare but the cooking time would be more than an hour especially if you will cook more than half a kilo like I did. I promise to make more of this because my husband and my son love it too. I might include this recipe in our weekly dish.

Combine the ingredients

Mix, mix, mix!

Fry

Fry the other side :)

Serve with vegetables or side dish

Best served with Mushroom Gravy

I hope you'll try it. Happy eating!

Ecotools Bamboo Bronzer Brush Review

Hello ladies! It's a "feel good Monday" and I'm sure I'm gonna start my week right. We'll be going to the mall later for the regular hair cut of Adam.

I love make-up brushes. It hasn't been too long since I learned how to use brush in applying make-up and now I am building my collection. I don't have a lot but I have few pieces that I need for personal use. I am also thinking of buying a set that I can use when I go to make-up school. Is there anything you recommend? I am eyeing on Sigma Mrs. Bunny Collection but I still want to read more review about it's performance.

The package that I’ve been waiting for has arrived. Inside it are Eco-tools Bronzer Brushes, I have loved them since I lay my eyes on them. I’ve seen good reviews about Eco-tools brushes before and I’ve wanted to buy one or maybe two to try but they’re not easy to get. Most of them are being sold online for a higher price. I learned about the Eco-tools Bamboo Bronzer brush from Julia of Bless My Bag. I immediately checked the link that she gave and made an order.

The brush comes in a reusable/resealable pouch. The pouch doesn’t look cheap. They actually managed to sew a small cloth with Eco-tools logo on top of the plastic which I really appreciated. Believe me, not all companies would think of adding that small details. However, because the brush is big and dense I have a hard time taking it out of the pouch. It would have been better if they put the zip-lock on the side instead of on top. I feel that I’m destroying the brush whenever I take it out.

The handle is made of bamboo it’s also bigger than other regular brushes, I’d say it’s more than an inch in diameter but that doesn’t make make-up application uneasy. The ferule is made of recycled aluminum while the bristles are made of soft taklon. I’ve been using it since I got it, it’s still very soft even if there’s product build up.

It shreds one or two pieces of hairs on the first time that I used it with liquid foundation and it still shreds one hair when I used it with powder. I think I have lost 6 hairs from the time it was used. It didn’t bleed when washed but it takes almost two days to completely dry which is the downside of it's density. Did I say it feels very soft on the skin? This is the softest brush I’ve ever had so far compared to other brushes I have.

It is also dense which is good if you want to use it with liquid foundation. I’ve used it as well with BB Cream, it works perfectly for both. It makes the application easier and the products look even on my skin. Most of the time, I use it for powder because I bring it to the office for that purpose. It’s a multi-tasker! Whether you use it for foundation, powder or body bronzer I think it will work perfectly.

I love this brush and I will definitely repurchase other eco-tools brush.

Check this link for the ebay seller.  Take care everyone!

Love,
JOY

Party Like a Rockstar!

Hello guys! It's gonna be a long weekend and I'm sure most of you are headed for a nice vacation. Keep safe and hope you all enjoy "winks".

So for this post, I won't be making a review. I will be showing pictures of my team when we had our 2Q Town hall at Tempura Grill in Makati. Here are the photos.
They are few of my colleagues. From left: Clarke, Lervie, April, Me and Melissa. Melissa won the best dressed female for our theme Glam-Rock. I like her cut-out sleeves and her braided hair.

The team with one of the boys Mark.

Here we have the bosses. Almost all of our bosses are men.
Sorry for the plastic bags. We're about to go home but we decided to take more pictures. Most of our foods were not eaten because we're busy taking pics and watching some performances, we bring it to the office and consumed everything.

This is Jake and Me. He won the Best Dressed Male, I think you know why by now. Don't worry, he doesn't look like that in person. He always has the weirdest make-up!

Taking the certificate Yey!
More photos...

Me with Boss Kurt our Deputy Project Executive. He is the most down-to-earth boss I've ever met. I hope I could work with him again.

I'll be spending my last week with this team. I'm sad that I'll be leaving but hopefully I'll meet all of them again.

Before I leave the house picture muna.
I decided to focus on my eye make-up. I used gold eyeshadows from Dollface Cosmetics for this look.

So that's it for the post. I hope you like it. Thanks for reading and See you next time!

Love,
JOY :)

ELF Healthy Glow Bronzing Powder Review

Hello lovelies! Remember the small ELF haul I posted a week ago? I'm been using them since, so today I'll be reviewing the ELF Healthy Glow Bronzing Powder.

This is not the first time for me to use this product. I used it three years back thinking that it is a powder and I wondered why my whole face was glowing. Oh well...that's me just starting a relationship with make-up. I was in need of a highlighter to make my face glow when I'm wearing matte foundation. I searched online for an affordable one just so I can practice then I found good reviews on ELF Healthy Glow Bronzing Powder.

e.l.f. Essential Healthy Glow Bronzing Powder

Achieve a sun-kissed complexion year round! The silky smooth, fine powder formula blends evenly and easily onto the skin for a lightweight feel. Use all over the body for a touch of sheer radiance. Perfect to buff onto the face, arms, shoulders, legs and décolleté for a gorgeous natural glow

I got the color in Luminance which is lighter than my skin tone. This is supposed to be used as a bronzer given it's name but the light color makes it applicable to be use as a highlighter. It comes in a plastic packaging that doesn't look cheap to me at all, for its price I wouldn't ask for a fancy one. You can easily see the color on top, on the bottom is a sticker where the name of the color is written. I wouldn't mind as well if they will put something underneath to cover the adhesive. Opening it is a pain, I don't know...but I have to give force just to open it.

I use it mainly on the face just for a hint of glow. I put it on the bridge of my nose, my cupids bow, on top of my brows and on my cheekbone. The color is pigmented, one or two swipes are enough to get the natural glow I want. I wouldn't say I have a sun-kissed complexion after applying it, again I'm just using it as a highlight and not as a bronzer. It does blends easily on the skin, I usually use the contour brush from Charm for application.

I've been using it everyday and so far I'm loving the effect. I love the natural glow that it gives on my face. I am thinking of using it for summer but I also thought that a darker shade is better if I want a sunkissed glow. It doesn't stay on my face longer than 3 hours, because of my oily skin I need to re-apply at least twice a day. If I don't blot an oil control sheet I would look like a mine of oil. But given all that, I still love this product and will definitely repurchase.

Have you tried this bronzer from ELF?

The Biggest decision in my Life

Hello lovelies! It's been raining since last week, most of the areas in Metro Manila and up North are in State of Calamity. I and my family are lucky because the village where we live is higher than the rest of the area here in Bulacan but other villages near us are flooded. Let's pray that this rain will stop and we'll see the sunshine again.

Yes I wanted to share that I have made one of the biggest decisions in my life. If you read my post in  May you probably know that I was hospitalized, because of that my husband wants me to rest for a while and take it as an opportunity to take care of our only son.

Hi I'm Adam. I'm mommy's little Man :)
This is one of the toughest decision that I have to make for myself. I have been working since I graduated from college. I admit I'm not ready yet to just stay home not  doing anything aside from household stuffs. I also love preparing myself, getting ready for work, do my make-up and the like. I'm very much used to my everyday routine so I didn't know how to cope if I resign.

After thinking about it for two months I finally gave my resignation letter last month which is effective on August 23. I am now rendering 30 days notice to my company and enjoying each day with my colleagues. We are supposed to  have our anniversary party tonight but re-scheduled it next week it because of the heavy rain.

On the lighter side, I will have more time to blog and make reviews. Instead of being sad because I will be out of work I feel so much excited that at last I can take care of my baby for the whole day feed him, change his clothes, give him a bath and teach him a lot of other things like write, read and count although he knows how to count from one to ten. He's 2 years old and we're getting ready to bring him to a play school next year. We're so much blessed for having Adam. He's a bright child, very sweet and easy to take care of. He's a happy baby, he doesn't cry a lot and he understands at his early age so I'm very excited.

Watch out for more reviews guys and I'll see you in my next post.

Loreal HIP Liquid Lip Color Review

Hello everyone! I'm back with another lip product review, now you know how obsessed I am with lipstick and lip products.

I received my package from MakeupHOLICS two days ago. She was having a clearance sale on some of her items and these are what I really, really wanted to try. You can check her facebook page, items are still on sale as of this writing.

I waited for them 3 business days after my payment, my package arrived sealed in a bubble wrap. I'm not expecting for these lip-gloss to be broken while on shipment but at least they're still protected with something but they're no longer sealed maybe the reason they're on sale. I got the L'Oreal HIP Shine High Intensity Liquid Lipcolor in Arresting, Pretentious and Zealous. Each cost Php90 plus an additional Php90 for the shipping fee so I paid only Php360 for all of these. Imagine that? Just 90Php for a L'Oreal product? I was like "It's time to try them!".

They're packed like this

...and these were inside

From Left: Arresting, Pretentious and Zealous

Here are the swatches.

Without Flash: Arresting, Pretentious and Zealous

Without Flash:Zealous

I love how pigmented these lip-color are. I can wear them alone or on top of a lipstick. I tried wearing Pretentious on top of Zealous and still looks pretty. The consistency is thick but not sticky on the lips unlike the regular lip gloss. The tube has 8.2ml of product which will last me a long time. Let me add also that it smells great, it's like chocolate but not overpowering the smell will wear-off upon application on the lips. It's not drying and it doesn't make my lips dry. The downside is the shine will fade after an hour but the color will stay on the lips.

I don't think this is available on L'Oreal counters here in the Philippines so I would suggest you check your favorite online sellers, you won't regret buying these stuff, I did not.

So that's it for now. Have you tried these or any L'Oreal lip-gloss? Let me know what you're favorite lip-gloss is I might give it a try.

Love lots,
 JOY
